Associations for Teachers and Parents of the Gifted and Talented

The Denver Association for Gifted and Talented (DAG/T) is a volunteer organization of parents, educators and other individuals interested in meeting the special needs of gifted and talented children and youth in school, at home, and in the community. By joining, you help support the Association's objectives at the local and state levels, become informed through newsletters and program meetings, and support one another by sharing your needs, your concerns and yourself. When you join DAG/T, you also become a member of the state association, the Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented (CAG/T).

 

The Colorado Association for Gifted and Talented (CAG/T) is a nonprofit organization of parents, educators, administrators and other individuals interested in supporting appropriate education for gifted, talented and creative individuals. CAG/T:

  • monitors state and national issues, trends, and legislation,

  • encourages a statewide network of information and support for programs and programming for gifted and talented students,

CAG/T also sponsors an annual fall conference featuring national and international speakers and experts in gifted education.

 

The National Association for Gifted Children - a national level organization of parents, educators, other professionals and community leaders who unite to address the unique needs of children and youth with demonstrated gifts and talents as well as those children who may be able to develop their talent potential with appropriate educational experiences. They support and develop policies and practices that encourage and respond to the diverse expressions of gifts and talents in children and youth from all cultures, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and socioeconomic groups. To this end, NAGC supports and engages in research and development, staff development, advocacy, communication, and collaboration with other organizations and agencies who strive to improve the quality of education for all students.
